About

Using signature techniques of folding and forging square wire, Ellen Monaghan makes sculptural jewellery inspired by architecture and natural landscapes. Continuous lengths of wire are formed into flowing structures, accented with colourful gemstones. Wires are folded and forged, creating landscapes of their own, inviting and guiding the eye.

Ellen works from her North Norfolk studio in the coastal village of Cley-next-the-sea. After building her practice in London, she made the move back to her original home to work from the well-established pottery Made in Cley. As the in-house goldsmith, Ellen makes and sells her jewellery from a beautiful regency building surrounded by potters, influenced by the seasons of the coast, marshland and big skies that surround them. Ellen also exhibits nationwide and her work can be found in galleries around the UK. She works with clients on bespoke projects and can re-work gemstones from pre-loved jewellery.
