Every month, we bring you an update about what’s new and exciting at Cockpit. From stunning products to intriguing projects to inspiring brand partnerships, here are the latest developments from our makers.
Ian Scott Kettle's quarterly drop is coming
Following a recent rebrand and the launch of his online shop, Ian Scott Kettle’s latest quarterly drop happening on 1 November will include two brand-new pieces — an ascot and a panel tie.
Each limited-edition piece is cut and hand made exclusively by Ian and dispatched within 2 working weeks of purchase. While you’re browsing his site, be sure to check out his made by request wedding service, as well as his upcoming workshop on pattern making and classic tailoring.
New and improved magnetic wallpaper from Sian Zeng
Cockpit’s own award-winning wallpaper designer recently launched a new magnetic wallpaper collection. Building on the success of her original designs, the new single-layer version of Sian’s wallpaper is more lightweight and easier to install, making it simpler than ever to transform any space into a canvas for creativity.
Sian’s new collection is available in eight different designs, each offered in multiple colorways. Pop by her studio during Winter Open Studios in Deptford, where visitors will be able to write messages on magnetic speech bubbles and test out the new wallpaper.
A collection 875,000 years in the making from Eleanor Lakelin
Following a year of experimentation with exceptionally fragile 875,000-year-old wood, Eleanor Lakelin has completed two extraordinary new works for the Extinction Collection, a remarkable collection of work highlighting climate change.
For this exhibition, Explorers Against Extinction invited a group of artists to create work featuring fossils, artefacts and materials from the beach at Happisburgh, Norfolk — the site of the earliest known human occupation in the UK.
See the exhibition at Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh until 19 October and at OXO Gallery in London from 31 October to 17 November.
Chalk Jewellery is now available at MoMA Design Store
The Museum of Modern Art is iconic in its own right as a pioneering force in the design world, and the shop at MoMA is at the forefront of celebrating creativity.
As of this autumn, a selection of earrings from Chalk Jewellery are now available in their New York store.
